Become a Catholic/RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process of spiritual and educational formation by which adults become full members of the Roman Catholic Church.

The RCIA welcomes both people who have never been baptized and people who were baptized in another Christian tradition and now wish to become Roman Catholic. Sometimes people who were baptized in the Catholic church in infancy but did not grow up in the practice of the faith also participate in RCIA. Adults who were baptized into the Catholic church, have celebrated First Eucharist and First Reconciliation, but were never confirmed, may take part in the Adult Confirmation Preparation Program.

Anyone interested in learning more about the possibility of joining the Roman Catholic Church is invited to contact Christina Bax. We will set up a time to meet and discuss your questions and the many paths to full membership in the Roman Catholic Church that we offer here at Saint Clement Church, no matter where you are in your faith journey.

The RCIA process is very flexible, and people in any stage of their faith journey can join in at many places along the path. And at any point along the way, people may realize that this choice is not right for them at this time in their life, for whatever reason. We wish them well on their journey of faith, and if that journey brings them back to us at another time, they are welcome.

Sponsors

We encourage people who want to become full members of the Catholic church to have a sponsor who walks alongside them on the path. And we encourage parishioners to step up and serve as sponsors! It's a wonderful way to update your knowledge of our faith and refresh your own spiritual life by supporting someone along his or her own journey. It's a big commitment to a life-changing experience! Please contact Christina Bax for more information.
