The Saint Clement Young Adult Community

Welcome statement from YAC Board
  • In recognition of the Saint Clement church mission and vision, the Young Adult Community (YAC) is an inclusive community of parishioners in our 20's and 30's on a journey of faith in Jesus Christ. We grow in faith through engaging in the liturgy, deepening relationships, serving one another and the greater community, and gratefully sharing with others the gifts we have each been given.
  • We have various spiritual, service, and social opportunities to be involved with so feel free to read below to learn about some of our upcoming events. Details on our ongoing events are listed towards the end.
  • Also, if you have any questions about getting involved at Saint Clement we encourage you to contact Lizzy Potter, Young Adult Board Member.

Guided By the Trinity: The Power to Live a Meaningful and Fulfilling Life

YAC Winter Retreat: Friday, Feb. 24 (6pm)- Sunday, Feb. 26 (3pm)
We go through life often times confused on what is the right path and how we should live our lives. The Power of the Holy Trinity guides us to the answers of this great mystery. Through God's love and grace we are blessed with the gifts and talents to live a fulfilling life. Through Jesus' healing we hold the power to forgive and be resilient in the face of disappointment. Through the Holy Spirit being alive within us, we discover the passion and energy to achieve true meaning in our lives. In times of darkness in our lives, living through the gifts of the Holy Trinity can provide us with meaning and fulfillment. We welcome you to come together in community with other Young Adult Catholics for a weekend of prayer, reflection, and discovery. You will discover the great gifts of the Holy Trinity inside of you and in others.

Spiritual Companioning Groups

Trying to find where God is present in your busy life? Want to explore this in a small group context of prayerful sharing and respectful listening? A Spiritual Companion Group may be your answer!

Join us on Tuesday, January 24 in the Saint Clement Chapel form 7:00-9:00pm for the Young Adult Community Spiritual Companion Group. This is not a group for theological study, problem solving, or scripture sharing--it’s a group to discuss God’s place in our lives today. If you haven’t attended a YAC Spiritual Companion Group previously, please come at 6:30pm for information before the evening starts.

For more information, please contact Sr. Maureen Fagan or Sr. Marybeth Martin.

Theology on Tap 2012

Every summer, Saint Clement partners with the Young Adult Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago to offer the very popular outdoor summer speaker series called Theology on Tap. Enjoy free food and drink as you meet new people, enrich your faith, and enjoy a beer on our church plaza on a beautiful summer evening. Last summer, 200 participants enjoyed each one of our sessions. Stay tuned for this summer’s lineup!

Ongoing Events

Clement Companion

The Saint Clement “Clement Companion” program matches young adults new to the Saint Clement community with a warm, friendly face to help newcomers feel more at home and at ease.

Sign up to be matched with a Clement Companion!

Are you new to Saint Clement and looking to get connected? Have you been at Saint Clement for a while, but still don’t quite feel like a part of the community? Just let us know and we will get you matched up. A Clement Companion is somebody that you can connect with that is currently involved in Saint Clement and will provide a friendly face you can recognize at various events. We are excited that you are here and can’t wait to get to know you better!

Sign up to BE a Clement Companion!

Are you currently a Saint Clement young adult interested in meeting and welcoming new young adults into the community? Please let us know!

Join the “Clement Companion” group on Facebook to learn more and get connected, or email Lizzy Potter.

Wine and Cheese Celebrations

Every second Sunday after the 7:00pm Mass, young adults in their 20s and 30s, single or married, gather for wine and cheese in the chapel hospitality area. It's a great place to meet people and find out what's going on in Saint Clement's young adult community! Look for more information in our weekly bulletin.

Our Lady of the Angels Monthly Service Opportunity

On the 4th Saturday of each month, volunteers from Saint Clement are needed from 9am – 12pm to serve at Our Lady of the Angels in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood. Tasks include sorting clothing and donations, cleaning, painting, sanding pews, and whatever else is needed for the Mission. Volunteers meet at Saint Clement at 8:30am to carpool, and return around 1pm. All are welcome for this important work – the more the merrier! Contact Dennis O’Toole.

Lakeview Pantry

Join us the first Thursday of the month as a group of Saint Clement young adults volunteer at the Lakeview Pantry located at 1414 W. Oakdale Avenue (in the lower level of the St. Alphonsus Complex). The Lakeview Pantry provides food and clothing to over 1,500 households every month. Volunteers will help distribute food from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Please contact Brian Slosson for details.

YAC Volleyball

Every Tuesday, 7:15pm, School Gym
All young adults in their 20's and 30's are invited to play volleyball in the school gym starting at 7:15pm every Tuesday. All levels are welcome! Please email Brian Slosson for more information.

Happy Hour

Every third Sunday of the month a group will gather at Trinity Bar just south of Diversey on Halsted Street for drinks and fellowship. We will be up the stairs toward the back of the bar. Or, walk over to the bar with the group--we will gather on the west side of the plaza in front of the church after Mass, then head over to Trinity.
