"Centering Prayer"

Speaker: Fr. Bob Oldershaw

In this noise-saturated, world-bombarded, action-dominated world, who isn't hungry for a deep, living relationship with God? Who doesn't thirst deeply for inner peace at the center of our being? Centering Prayer is a method of contemplation that opens mind, heart, body and emotions - our whole being - to God, the Ultimate Mystery, beyond words and thoughts and emotions. We will talk about this method, and then try it.

Fr. Bob Oldershaw was Associate Pastor at Saint Clement from 1981-1988, then appointed pastor at St. Nicholas in Evanston, where he served for 18 years. Now retired, he continues to assist at St. Nick's and other parishes. He is a missioner with Solidarity Bridge lay mission to Bolivia, works for immigration justice in th U.S. and peace in the Middle East.
