Catholicism: Journey Around the World and
Deep into the Faith
Meets monthly; next meeting February 7
7:00pm-9:00pm, Fireside Hall (in the school, 2524 N. Orchard)
Catholics around the nation have been drawn to the TV and DVD series Catholicism, a rich media experience that seeks to explore, through a global journey, the living culture of the Catholic Church. With creator and host Father Robert Barron—a priest from our own Archdiocese of Chicago—viewers will learn what Catholics believe and why, while being immersed in the art, architecture, literature, beliefs, and practices of the Catholic tradition.
Saint Clement will be offering the opportunity to view this series together over the coming year, while engaging this material through lively discussion and reflection on its application to our lives of faith. Click here for further information. Register today for the February 7 meeting.
We are all uniquely made in the image and likeness of God. God formed and made each of us with different individual talents and strengths. Each one of us is called, chosen, and beloved by God. But how do we discover our unique gifts? How are we called to use these gifts to become faithful followers of Christ?
Guided by personal experience and the results of the Gallup Member Engagement Survey (ME25), members of the Engagement Committee developed a four-session program, called Strengths for the Journey, which provides an opportunity to explore and develop your God-given gifts. It will be offered to all parishioners for the first time this Lent. The program begins the week of February 20 with several options for meeting days, times, and starting week. Changes to the Mass Now in Use
You may have heard about some changes to the way we celebrate Mass. Although the essence of the Mass never changes dramatically, there are now revised words to some of our responses and prayers. Parishes throughout the English-speaking world have prepared for this transition, and our parish has been no exception. As of the First Sunday of Advent, the beginning of the church year, we have begun to use the revised Mass texts.
No, not the area where we gather after Mass each week, sharing stories, coffee, and treats. The Plaza is Saint Clement’s new communications tool—an electronic newsletter—delivered each week to your inbox. If you didn’t receive your copy of The Plaza this past Friday, look for the sign-up box in the right-hand column of this page.
