Stewardship of Treasure
God willed creation as a gift addressed to men and women, an inheritance destined for and entrusted to them.
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, #299)
Dear Friend in Christ:
Welcome to the Saint Clement community. We hope that your involvement at Saint Clement will enrich your life as it has ours.
Our pastor, Fr. Ken Simpson, invites you to think about your commitment to support Saint Clement in the spirit of Christian stewardship. That spirit is rooted in our faith-filled belief that all we have – and all we are – has been entrusted to us as a gift from God: our time, our talents, our wealth, our very lives. Stewardship is our response to the blessings that God has entrusted to us, and is our participation in God's act of creation.
We hope that you already enjoy this participation through your worship with the Saint Clement community. Your commitment to supporting Saint Clement, in time, talent and treasure, helps sustain the faith of us all. It is a powerful response to God's call to us to be stewards of the church.
We invite you to prayerfully reflect on the gift of treasure that you are able to share with Saint Clement. The quality of our liturgies, parish programs, ministries, facilities and outreach to the needy is determined by the support we receive from you.
There are several ways to give:
- monthly envelope contribution
- weekly envelope contribution
- monthly, quarterly or weekly debit to Visa or MasterCard (earn airline miles!)
- monthly bank draft from your checking account (automatic debit; contact Marlo Montgomery-Carthen for further information)
As part of participation in stewardship, we ask that you prayerfully consider contributing 2.5% of your annual household income.
If this level of support is not practical at this time, we ask you to consider contributing $80.00 monthly to Saint Clement.
While your generosity is deeply appreciated in any amount and at any time, a planned giving schedule greatly enhances our parish's ability to budget its programs and prepare for the future. Like the act of creation that it reflects, stewardship is most effective when it follows a
plan.
Please fill out a Stewardship Pledge Card (available from parish receptionist or download by clicking
here) and drop it in the Sunday collection basket or return it to the parish office by fax or mail.
If you would like to discuss your planned giving options, please contact Kim Carter or at 773-236-0371, ext. *822.
Saint Clement is a wonderful place because of all the parishioners who answer God's call and generously share their gifts with the parish. Thank you for taking seriously the joy and responsibility of membership in our faith community!
Sincerely,
The Stewardship and Development Committee
