Community of Shepherds: Guiding Our Legacy
The
Community of Shepherds fund is our one-of-a-kind parish initiative to address ongoing capital improvements to our facilities. This special fund insures that our mission and ministries will not be jeopardized while financing necessary improvements to our facilities. In the past, like other parishes, we have had to depend on capital fund drives to help us maintain our beautiful but aging buildings.
But now, the unique
Community of Shepherds program ensures that the parish's ongoing capital needs are met.
With your support, the
Community of Shepherds program will continue to maintain and transform our parish both physically and spiritually. Your generosity makes it possible to take on needed projects without draining our daily operating budget. Your sacrificial gift will truly benefit everyone, now and in the future.
The first parishioners built and used these buildings for many of the same types of ministries that we do today. They passed their legacy on to us in the hope that Saint Clement would continue to be a place of community, service and faith. By caring for the oldest of our parish structures, we are practicing good stewardship and continuing a legacy that began more than 100 years ago. Your gift is instrumental in preserving the legacy of our parish.
It is our parish commitment to donate 9.5% of the funds received through the
Community of Shepherds pledges to the capital needs of charitable organizations. This percentage has been raised for the 2010 campaign from 9%. In the past, we have donated to organizations such as Sacred Heart Church in Louisiana (victim of Hurricane Rita); the Enterprising Kitchen; Our Lady of Mercy in Albany Park, our sharing parish; 22 de Abril, our sister parish in El Salvador; and the Lincoln Park Community Shelter.
