CFM at Saint Clement is an organization of small groups of married couples who gather monthly in each other's homes to share faith, friendship and a sense of belonging. CFM at Saint Clement provides a place to share our values, lives and faith in an atmosphere of openness and understanding.
CFM uses group discussion and group action to empower members to grow. At their monthly meetings, CFMers talk together about how their Christian faith affects their lives, and how they can live their lives more effectively – as married couples, parents, concerned Christians and responsible citizens. CFM acts as a change agent that improves home life, parish life and community life.
Observe – Judge – Act
The CFM method is to observe a situation, judge whether or not it needs to be changed, and if so, to act. CFM members undertake a simple action, either as individuals or as a group, that will help bring people and the world closer to what God created us to be. In this process they change themselves, too.
Membership
All married couples at Saint Clement, newlyweds and long-married, without children, with small children, or with grandchildren, are invited to join CFM at Saint Clement. CFM at Saint Clement is part of a local and national network. CFM members support this network by a small annual contribution; in return, they receive the annual Program Book that some groups use to guide their discussions.
Something Special
Sociologist Dr. James Johnson reports that CFM couples are dedicated to improving their marriage and family life. They experience a high degree of happiness in these relationships.
- CFM strengthens marriages,
- CFM develops strong families,
- CFM deepens faith,
- CFM builds leaders,
- CFM raises social consciousness.
Above all, CFM is way to be part of a small Christian community that provides friendship and supports Christian values. Members of groups model Christian marriage and family life for one another. CFM brings children into contact with other responsible and caring adults. Being part of CFM does not complicate, but adds to its members' lives.
