Young Adults (YAC)

The Saint Clement Young Adult Community

Here's a way for young adults – people in their 20s and 30s, married and single – to experience their faith in more ways than just at Sunday Mass. We have a very active Young Adult Community (YAC) here at Saint Clement, led by a team of 10 young adult parishioners. Share your enthusiasm, talents and time. Strengthen and revitalize your faith. Meet and serve our neighbor and one another. Come to a YAC sponsored event and see what a great group of people we have gathered here at Saint Clement!

Sharing the Journey, Season VI

Faith-Sharing Groups begin February 3 for the Lenten Season

As the Lenten season approaches, we look to reflect on our faith Journey with God. What better way to do that than by signing up for a faith-sharing group through our Sharing the Journey campaign. Now in its sixth season, the Journey continues to welcome new participants and returning members alike. Season VI groups kick-off the week of Sunday, February 3 beginning with a Mardi Gras brunch (in the Chapel, following 11:15am Mass). Groups meet for six consecutive weeks to break open the Word and share their fellowship and faith throughout the Saint Clement community. Sharing the Journey is an opportunity for all of us to make our Saint Clement community one that is closer to one another, and ultimately, closer to God. Please RSVP for our Mardi Gras brunch and sign-up for a Journey group today!

YAC Annual Retreat

Surprise. You're Not Alone: Reflections on the Road to Emmaus story
Friday, January 18 thru Sunday, January 20

Take a break from your busy schedule and join other young adults from Saint Clement at the annual retreat, which this year is centered around the Road to Emmaus story (Lk 24: 13-35). Sr. Pam Falkowski, R.C. will host the retreat along with a team of young adults. Fr. Ken Simpson will also join us. Expect a weekend of faith enrichment from great talks and time for prayer. Enjoy discussion with your peers about faith and life issues. This weekend is planned for those who have never attended a retreat before and for those who have made retreats in the past. Plenty of individual and social time is provided in the schedule, including a party on Saturday!

Space is limited. There is a $180 fee per person that covers nice accommodations for two nights and meals. The retreat fills up quickly so please download and fill out a registration form and mail it in with your check. Please make the $180 check payable to Saint Clement. Mailing address: Saint Clement Church, 642 W. Deming Place, Chicago, IL 60614 ATTN: Young Adult Retreat. Scholarships are available upon request for those who need them.

For more information, please contact Elizabeth Moriarty at 773-281-0371.

Charis Ministries

We are happy to lead young adults looking for a wonderful retreat experience to Charis Ministries, whose mission is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth in the Catholic tradition for young adults, ages 20-40, using the gifts of Ignatian spirituality. Please see the Charis Ministries website for news on upcoming young adult retreats and other spiritual offerings.

Theology on Tap

Every summer, Saint Clement partners with the Young Adult Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago to offer the very popular outdoor summer speaker series called Theology on Tap. We usually meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 p.m., and enjoy free food and drink together. TOT is a casual way to meet new people, enrich your faith, and enjoy a beer on our church plaza on a beautiful summer evening. Last summer, 200 participants enjoyed each one of our sessions.

Wine and Cheese Celebrations

Every second Sunday after the 7:00 pm Mass, young adults in their 20s and 30s, single or married, gather for wine and cheese in the Chapel Hospitality Area.

It's a great place to meet people and find out what's going on in Saint Clement's young adult community!

If you would like to help out with the gatherings, e-mail Elizabeth Moriarty or call her at 773-281-0371 ext. *813. And look for notices in the bulletin!
Subscribe to the Young Adult Community E-mail Discussion List

The discussion list allows all subscribers to post and read items that interest the group. Mainly, the list is used to spread the word about young adult events at Saint Clement and other churches in our area.

To subscribe, send an e-mail to requests@stclementchurch.org with "subscribe yac" in the subject line. You will receive a confirmation email from the list administrator. Please allow up to 3 work days to receive this confirmation email.  Once you confirm and you would like to send an email to the group, simply send the email to the address yac@lists.stclementchurch.org using the email address with which you registered.  Emails will not go through if they are larger than 35k (so no images and no attachments other than short black and white text documents).

To unsubscribe, simply send an e-mail to requests@ stclementchurch.org with the words "unsubscribe yac" in the subject line.

If you have difficulty subscribing or need technical help, please e-mail Joanna Krynski.
