Young Adults (YAC)

The Saint Clement Young Adult Community

Here's a way for young adults – people in their 20s and 30s, married and single – to experience their faith in more ways than just at Sunday Mass. We have a very active Young Adult Community (YAC) here at Saint Clement, led by a team of 10 young adult parishioners. Share your enthusiasm, talents and time. Strengthen and revitalize your faith. Meet and serve our neighbor and one another. Come to a YAC sponsored event and see what a great group of people we have gathered here at Saint Clement!

Theology on Tap 2010

Tuesdays, July 13, 20, 27 & August 3 at 7:00pm on the plaza
Every summer, Saint Clement partners with the Young Adult Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago to offer the very popular outdoor summer speaker series called Theology on Tap. Enjoy free food and drink as you meet new people, enrich your faith, and enjoy a beer on our church plaza on a beautiful summer evening. Last summer, 200 participants enjoyed each one of our sessions. This year's line-up:

July 13   -   "Choices, Choices...Discerning God's Will
                    in Our Lives"

                    Speaker: Fr. Phil Hurley, SJ,
and other members of the Jesuit Mission Band

July 20   -   "Getting Real about Dating and Relationships:
                    Re-examining 'Falling in Love' and
                    'Happily Ever After'

                    Speaker: Mr. Jason Simon

July 27   -   "Being Catholic in the Corporate World:
                    Becoming a Values-Based Leader"
                    Speaker: Mr. Harry Kraemer, Jr.

Aug 3    -    "Living 'LOST': Exploring Our Identity and
                    Faith as Today's Young Adult"

                    Speaker: Ms. Megan McDonald

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TOT
Volunteers are needed again this year to make Saint Clement’s Theology on Tap the best and biggest in the archdiocese. Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the vitality of Saint Clement’s young adult community and to make some new friends in the process! If you are interested in offering your services or to find out more details, please email Chris Tarnacki or fill out our online registration form.

Clement Companion

Are you new to Saint Clement Church and interested in getting involved with the Young Adult Community? Perhaps you have been at Saint Clement for years, received weekly emails from the listserve but have hesitated to attend any events because you weren’t sure if you would know anyone there? Either way, we have a program that is right up your alley.

The Saint Clement Young Adult Board is happy to offer a new initiative called “Clement Companion.” A Clement Companion is someone that you can connect with who is currently involved at Saint Clement and will provide a friendly face you can recognize at various events. Now you can come to Wine & Cheese after 7pm Mass, register for the Young Adult Retreat, or participate in a service project and be confident there will be someone you know who is there as well. We know that taking the first step to get involved can be a bit intimidating so hopefully this will make it a little easier for you.

Here is how it works: Email me, Michael Ingraham, indicating you are interested in having a Clement Companion. Once you tell me a little bit about your interests (Service, Social, Eucharistic Ministry, all of the above, etc.) we will partner you with a Saint Clement Young Adult Board member who will follow up with you. No joke, it is just that easy. If this new program sounds appealing please send me an email and we will get the ball rolling.

Charis Ministries

We are happy to lead young adults looking for a wonderful retreat experience to Charis Ministries, whose mission is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth in the Catholic tradition for young adults, ages 20-40, using the gifts of Ignatian spirituality. Please see the Charis Ministries website for news on upcoming young adult retreats and other spiritual offerings.

Wine and Cheese Celebrations

Every second Sunday after the 7:00pm Mass, young adults in their 20s and 30s, single or married, gather for wine and cheese in the chapel hospitality area. It's a great place to meet people and find out what's going on in Saint Clement's young adult community! Look for more information in our bulletin
