Young Adults (YAC)

The Saint Clement Young Adult Community

Here's a way for young adults – people in their 20s and 30s, married and single – to experience their faith in more ways than just at Sunday Mass. We have a very active Young Adult Community (YAC) here at Saint Clement, led by a team of 10 young adult parishioners. Share your enthusiasm, talents and time. Strengthen and revitalize your faith. Meet and serve our neighbor and one another. Come to a YAC sponsored event and see what a great group of people we have gathered here at Saint Clement!

Theology on Tap 2009

Tuesdays, July 14, 21, 28, and August 4, at 7:15pm, Plaza
Every summer, Saint Clement partners with the Young Adult Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago to offer the very popular outdoor summer speaker series called Theology on Tap. We usually meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:15pm, and enjoy free food and drink together. TOT is a casual way to meet new people, enrich your faith, and enjoy a beer on our church plaza on a beautiful summer evening. Last summer, 200 participants enjoyed each one of our sessions. This year's line-up:

July 14   -   "Finding God in the Public Square and
                    the Market Place"

                    Speaker: Fr. Pat McGrath, SJ

July 21   -   "Talking with God: The Art of Prayer"
                    Speaker: Fr. Eddie DeLeon, CMF

July 28   -   "Come Together: How Contemporary Music from
Rock to Hip Hop Can Bring Us Closer to God
                    and Neighbor
"
                    Speaker: Terri Hemmert

Aug 4    -    "Friendship in a Fast Paced Word:
'Friending' or Face to Face With Others and God"

                    Speaker: Beth Knobbe

Welcome Home: 2009 YAC Retreat

January 23-25, 2009, Marytown Retreat Center in Mundelein

Would you like to feel more connected to the Saint Clement young adult community? Could you use a chance to refocus as we start a new year? Want to see Fr. Ken take on an order of Franciscan Friars in a Bible-off? Then come as you are to the 2009 young adult retreat! It’s a chance to get to know other young adults at Saint Clement, to have some meaningful conversations, and to spend some quiet time away from the city reflecting. This year’s retreat draws its themes from the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Lk 15: 11-32) and will focus on this scripture passage.

When: January 23 -- 25, 2009 (Friday evening to midday Sunday)
Where: Marytown retreat center in Mundelein
Cost: $175 (includes lodging and meals); scholarships are available, please contact Fr. Ken Simpson.
Questions: email Katie Lawrence, kathlaw13@yahoo.com
Is it worth it: Yes!
