The Catholicism DVD series is a rich media experience that seeks to explore, through a global journey, the living culture of the Catholic Church. Viewers will learn what Catholics believe and why, while being immersed in the art, architecture, literature, beliefs, and practices of the Catholic tradition.
Join us on March 6 for the viewing of “Happy Are We: the Teachings of Jesus.” We will meet in Fireside Hall in Saint Clement School at 7:00pm. To ensure your Catholicism study guide, please register one week prior to the session.
The Catholic Church's regulations on fasting require those between the ages of 18 and 59 to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, limiting themselves to one full meal and two smaller meals each day, with no snacking between meals. Catholics age 14 and older abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent. When we fast, we unite ourselves with others who suffer from want. We also sharpen our awareness of our dependence on God for all the gifts in our lives.
This tradition of Stations of the Cross allows us to make a pilgrimage in spirit to the scenes of Christ’s suffering and death. Through this pilgrimage we become aware that we are not alone in our own sufferings. Wednesdays during Lent (except 2/22 & 4/4) at 6:15pm in the church.

Each participant will learn how to discover his or her own personal strengths, and how to best use them to find deeper meaning and purpose in one's life, as well as to understand God's special call to wholeness. Trained facilitators will guide small groups of 8-10 parishioners through the 90-minute weekly sessions. Click here for more information. The registration deadline has passed, however you may contact Mary Cele Doyle if you are interested in participating.
We are blessed to have in our parish several adults preparing for baptism, first Eucharist and confirmation. Their presence in our community becomes more apparent during Lent, when we witness and participate in the rites culminating in the sacraments celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Those preparing for the sacraments are called to go through a period of intense reflection before being received into the Church. The goal is for all of us to go through this period of preparation with them in order to gain a deeper knowledge and experience of Christ our Savior. These people, the Elect, are a primary symbol for us during Lent, representing our own baptism as we prepare with them for theirs. Please pray for our RCIA members during this time.
