Frequently Asked Questions

REGISTRATION AND LOGISTICS
Q. What if I want to work at Saint Clement, but my spouse wants to work off-site?
A. Fill out only one form, but check the boxes for “At Saint Clement” or “Off Site” next to each family member’s name in the “Choose a Way to Help” and “Other Family Members” sections.

Q. If my spouse and I do not want to work on the same team, how do I indicate this on the form?
A. Make a note of your request in the area where additional family members are to be listed.

Q. Can I request to be on the same team as my friend/significant other?
A. Write your friend’s name on the appropriate line in the “Team Preference” area of the registration form.

Q. A team captain has already recruited me to join his or her team. How do I register for that team?

A. Write your captain’s name on the appropriate line in the “Team Preference” section.

Q. If I have only a couple of hours to spend or prefer not to go off-site, can I still participate?
A. Yes! There is a need for adults to help with set-up, dinner, clean-up, and children’s service projects throughout the day. Check the appropriate box under “Choose a Way to Help.”

Q. What kind of work will the off-site teams be doing?
A. The type of work will vary from site to site. Expect activities like painting, cleaning, washing walls or windows, entertaining nursing home residents, preparing food, or gardening.

Q. How far away will teams travel to the sites and how will they get there?
A. All sites are within a 30 minute drive of Saint Clement. Your team captain will determine transportation. In most cases groups will carpool from Saint Clement to their sites.

Q. What kind of in-kind donations might be needed?
A. Work gloves and shovels will be needed. Donations of clothing, household cleaning supplies, and hygiene products are also needed. See the parish website for a specific list of these items.

Q. What spiritual elements are a part of Clement Service Day?
A. The day is structured to help participants reflect on what their service means to their faith. There will be an opening prayer service at Saint Clement in the morning, group reflection for each team led by the captains during the service projects, and a Mass at the close of the day.
